The act of incorporating a radiation hardened integrated circuit into a computer that is specified under ECCN 4A994 or designated as EAR99 does not, in and of itself, cause the computer to meet the parameters of ECCN paragraph 4A101.b.

Note: For the purposes of 4A101, 'radiation hardened' means that the “part,” “component” or equipment is designed or rated to withstand radiation levels which meet or exceed a total irradiation dose of 5 × 10 5 rads (Si).
